1/3 cup shortening

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup water

1 egg

1 tsp. instant coffee crystals

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup raisin


1 cup sifted powdered sugar

2 tbsp. softened butter

1 tbsp. milk

1/4 tsp vanilla

1. Cream shortening and brown sugar beating on medium speed with an electric mixer.

2. Add water, egg, and coffee crystals and mix well.

3. In a bowl stir together flour, and the next four ingredients.

4. Slowly add to the creamed mixture beating the mixture on low speed.

5. Stir in the raisins.

6. Spread the mixture in a greased 13x9x2 inch greased pan.

7. Bake for 25 minutes.

8. Combine the powdered sugar, and remaining topping ingredients mix thoroughly.

9. Let cookie bars slightly cool and spread the topping over the top.

Cool completely and cut into bars. Enjoy!!
